Safeguarding Policy
Our commitment to protecting children, young people and adults at risk
Taqwa Institute's Safeguarding Commitment
Taqwa Institute is committed to taking all necessary steps to protect children, young people and adults at risk from harm and to create a culture of safety, dignity, equality and protection in all of our activities (including madrasa provision, youth programmes, events, mentoring, trips and community services).
We encourage and support all partners we work with (including schools, community organisations, venues and volunteers) to adopt and demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding and equality, in line with this procedure and the policies listed below.
Our Safeguarding Principles
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We all share a duty to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk, and we recognise that working in partnership with families, professionals and community partners is essential.
The welfare of the child/young person/adult at risk is paramount and must always come first.
Everyone has the right to be safe, regardless of background, faith, ethnicity, gender, disability, or circumstance.
All concerns and allegations are taken seriously, recorded, reported and responded to appropriately and without delay.
